The lack of data and information on the impacts of the intersectional multiple identities especially understanding of climate change has situated persons with disabilities and primarily indigenous peoples with disabilities far behind in climate policies and actions. Recognizing these realities, NIDWAN prepared the factsheet on Intersections of Climate Change, Gender, Indigeneity and Disability.
The document presents figures and facts on the impacts of climate change on multiple marginalized groups like young indigenous women with disabilities and its interconnection at several layers and aspects. It has highlighted some of the global facts and grassroots lived experiences of indigenous women and girls with disabilities and further demands more intensive research on these issues.
