What Our Supporters Say

Amplifying the voices of Indigenous women with disabilities
Women with disabilities are not a homogenous group. Women and girls with disabilities face discrimination due to the intersectional challenges of ableism, sexism, and identity, such as Indigenous women with disabilities. NIDWAN works to address these challenges, protecting and promoting the rights of marginalized Indigenous persons with disabilities (IPWDs) in Nepal. NIDWAN has been working to visibilize these issues and the voices of grassroots IPWDs within the disability, gender, and Indigenous movements at the national, regional, and global levels. As the Regional Head of Programs for Asia at the Disability Rights Fund, I am glad we have partnered with NIDWAN to support their critical advocacy. They are amplifying the voices of Indigenous women with disabilities to ensure their full participation in decision-making processes, including in cross-movement spaces at the national, regional, and global level.
