Session on Mental Health & Psychosocial Counselling

In coordination with KOSHISH, National Mental Health Self Help Organization working with Psychosocial Counselling for People with Disabilities, NIDWAN conducted virtual sessions on ‘Mental Health and Psychosocial Counselling’. Covid-19 Pandemic had exponential impacts on the social, economic and mental health of all, which is even greater for People with Disabilities. The objectives of the sessions were to capacitate NIDWAN members, staff and participants on providing basic psychosocial support. The inception meeting was conducted on the 29th of September with the staff and members of the KOSHISH team. The sessions were especially targeted to the front-liners, who work for People with Disabilities so that they will be able to support those in need of psychological counselling. Henceforth, the virtual session was conducted from 6th October- 10th November on each Tuesday with Dr. Sagoon KC, Psychologist of KOSHISH. The details of the sessions are presented below:

  • Session 1: Mental Health and Psychosocial Counselling (6th October)
  • Session 2: Mr. Matrika Devkota, President KOSHISH & Dr. Sagoon KC, PhD (13th October)
  • Session 3: Mental Health Problems (20th October)
  • Session 4: Identifying and addressing symptoms related to Mental & Psychosocial Health Problems (10th November)
