"Nothing About Us Without Us, Towards Leaving No One Behind"

Weekly Interactive Session on Mental Health and Wellbeing

During the COVID-19 pandemic, much news and data have shown that people are suffering from mental stress and anxiety. This scenario is even worse in the case of People with Disabilities. It has been known that during the pandemic and lockdown period many have lost their only source of income, inaccessibility to the basic health services like medicines, cathedral pipes, attendance services, sanitary pads for women and so on, confined inside their homes which added more stress and anxiety to their mental health. As a result, many of them suffered from depressions, showed aggressive behaviours, while some have attempted suicide. As an attempt to ease the situation particularly for indigenous People with Disabilities including indigenous women with disabilities and youths, a five days session on Self-care and Well-being was conducted by NIDWAN in the month of September. The session was facilitated by Dr. Chhori Laxmi Maharjan, PSY.D, Director, Ankur Counselling & Training Centre.

  • Session 1: Introduction to Self-Care (8th September)
  • Session 2: Building Relation & Trust (13th September)
  • Session 3: Communication Skills (15th September)
  • Session 4: Understanding Stress & Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) I (20th September)
  • Session 5: Understanding Stress & Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) II(22nd September)
