National Indigenous Disabled Women Association – Nepal (NIDWAN), established in 2015, is a non-for-profit making nongovernmental organization founded and run by young indigenous women and girls with disabilities with a focus on ensuring, protecting, and promoting the rights of indigenous women and girls with disabilities. NIDWAN has programs on gender, disability, and indigenous rights including health, climate change, employment, inclusive humanitarian action, policy advocacy, research and documentation, and publication. NIDWAN works in the local, national, regional, and global arena to sensitize and engage in policy intervention.
In order to deliver effectively these programs, NIDWAN is looking qualified human resources for following positions based in Kathmandu valley –
Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation Officer
Position: Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation Officer (Kathmandu Based)
Reports To: Executive Head
Supervise To: Program Intern and Volunteer (if required)
Work Station: NIDWAN Central Office (Kusunti, Lalitpur)
Number of positions required: 1 (one)
Contract Type: Fixed term contract till December 2023 with possibility of extension upon the satisfactory performance. 3 months of probation applies.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Purpose:
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation Officer will be responsible for the design, coordination and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation, research, learning and documentation of the NIDWAN’s all project. S/he will develop a systematic monitoring framework to improve the qualitative and quantitative evidence gathered by the NIDWAN/s programs and projects.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Develop and implement the NIDWAN’s disability inclusive monitoring, evaluation, learning and documentation framework, including performance indicators, data collection tools and methodologies, and reporting mechanisms.
- Initiate joint monitoring visits in collaboration with local government and other key stakeholders and feed in program team for the effective implementation of program intervention.
- Conduct regular data collection and analysis to track progress towards program goals and objectives.
- Work closely with other team members and strengthen M&E system
- Support NPC in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans for individual projects, and provide technical assistance and guidance as needed.
- Conduct evaluations of program activities to assess the effectiveness and impact of interventions, and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Support the development of donor reports and other communication materials related to program impact and results.
- Participate in program planning and strategy development processes to ensure that monitoring, evaluation and learning are integrated throughout.
- Integrate gender into M&E systems promoting gender equality and gender mainstreaming.
- Travel to different districts and communities as and when required
- Monitor implementation of activities through regular field visits and interactions with communities, local government bodies and other relevant stakeholders
Research and Studies
- Conduct research and studies as assigned by the organization
- Carry out studies on indigenous women and girls with disabilities from intersectional lens to produce evidences
- Conduct research/survey/assessment activities in the projects
- Prepared various terms of references for the research and studies related to the various thematic programs and projects
- Work as a focal point for consultants to complete the assigned research and studies that are relevant under the category of monitoring and evaluation within the agreed timelines.
Learning and Documentation
- Maintain a set of documentation of meetings/training organized
- Collection, compilation and production of Case Studies and success stories
- Collect the updated training manuals, guidelines and others when needed
- Support to develop program concept note and proposal
- Organize an archiving system and control the access to documents
- Work with NPC program team to ensure quality and consistency of documentation practice across the organization.
- Utilize storage software and applications for electronic filing.
- Establish electronic filing system and backup system of the program
- Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing across the organization through the development and dissemination of best practices, lessons learned, and success stories.
- Analysis of survey data/reports and provide guidance for program improvement
- Ensure the collection, sharing and disseminating of the project experiences, learning and good practices
- Support in organizational development activities
- Compile various reports (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual etc.) and other information
Required qualification, skills and experience:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in either statistics, social science, development Studies with 3 to 5 years of experience or preferred master degree with minimum 2 years of practical experience in the relevant areas.
- Demonstrated experiences in monitoring, evaluation, and documentation.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis,
- Self-organized, strong interpersonal, planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to forge mutually respectful, trusting, and effective relationships with a diverse group of staff, community leaders, and decision-makers.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluation and skills with strong written and spoken communications skills in English and Nepali language for report writing and documentation.
- Demonstrated skills in using excel, KOBO, google form, Microsoft form, SPSS, etc. to collect data and analyze these accordingly.
- Working experience in the consortium-based projects specifically on disability inclusion, good governance and gender-based violence.
- Willingness to travel in the field, even in remote areas and in international meetings when required.
- Ability to maintain balance and perspective and a proactive “can do” attitude that can motivate others.
- Knowledge of current best practices and emerging trends in monitoring, evaluation and documentation
