"Nothing About Us Without Us, Towards Leaving No One Behind"

Climate Change Policy NIDWAN

As countries move forward with measures to combat climate change and adapt to its impacts from the ground level, it is critical that multilateral forms of climate governance and national policies and framework ensure the meaningful participation of People with Disabilities at all levels by respecting and integrating their fundamental human rights. Thus, this policy paper has been designed by NIDWAN to give a glance at the reality and ensure all voices of People with Disabilities to be included in climate governance and decision-making in addressing human-induced climate change leaving none left behind. The paper aims to review and spotlight the issues and impacts of People with Disabilities in existing climate policies and practices at all levels and provide practical and applicable recommendations for mainstreaming the issues of People with Disabilities through their meaningful participation together with other minority groups including Indigenous Peoples.
