Submission to the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination: The Right to Health for Women with Disabilities Who Experience Racism

 

National Indigenous Disabled Women Association Nepal (NIDWAN), Women Enabled International (WEI), Mujeres con Capacidad de Soñar a Colores Collective (Women with the Ability to Dream in Color), and Minority Rights Group jointly provided the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD Committee) with information for its forthcoming Day of General Discussion on racial discrimination and the right to health.

The submission highlighted the availability, accessibility, and acceptability of quality healthcare, the prevalence of racism, ableism, and gender discrimination in sexual and reproductive healthcare and during the COVID-19 Pandemic. International Human Rights and the Right to Health at the Intersection of Race, Gender, and Disability and concrete recommendations are presented on the submission.
